Funding
Goslings is predominantly set up for working families, seeking whole day care. Daily sessions are 10 hours long, which matches well with the delivery of working families funding entitlement. We have very limited capacity to offer fully-funded places or short sessional funded only places to families. We therefore recommend parents seeking to utilise just their free hours, seek providers on school sites or community premises etc who may be able to offer term time only or short sessional care options, if you have no additional childcare requirement. For working families or full time students we have a range of options, all stretched throughout the year and on a whole-day-care basis.
The government offer parents 15 hours per week of funded childcare over 38 weeks of the year, which equates to 570 hours over a whole academic year. As Goslings is open for 51 weeks of the year, we stretch these funded hours and deliver funded places in the following pattern. 1 x 10hr days, over all 51 weeks. This utilises 510 of the 570 hours. The remaining hours, if parents wish to claim them, would be delivered as 6 free floating days, spread throughout the academic year, subject to available places.
Lunch and consumable charges apply to the funded sessions at a rate of £7.50/day, billed termly in advance, at £142.50 every 4 months.
We insist that the minimum attendance at nursery is 2 days per week, to ensure that children are settled and have the opportunity to establish a good routine to engage in learning when they are here. All families wishing to take up a place for 15 hour funding would need to add at least 1 more private day per week to their booking. Therefore the minimum monthly payment for under 3’s is currently £288 per month, for a child to attend 2 days per week (1 funded day, 1 private day), This reduces to £275/month for over 3’s.
For 30 hr funded places, we offer 2 x 10hr days, over all 51 weeks. This utilises 1,020 of the 1,140 hours. The remaining 120 hours, if parents wish to claim them, would be delivered as 12 free floating days, spread throughout the academic year, subject to available places. There is no requirement to take additional private childcare on top of a 30hr funded place.
